Bronte
Bronte is a British company, set up in 1837 and manufacturing woollen home and fashion accessories such as scarves, blankets, throws and cushions.
Bronte operates from one of Britain's last remaining vertical mills, and they look after the entire process of making their garments. From designing the items to working with the raw wool through dyeing, blending, spinning and weaving.
Keeping their business in Britain makes Bronte very special as a brand. Where the traditional industries around Yorkshire have faded away, Bronte has remained and continues to flourish as customers value the fact the products are quality British garments.
Here at Amor Cashmere & Tweed we have selected range of Bronte throws, blankets, cushions and doorstops for you to choose from. These home furnishings are traditionally crafted but also have modern designs so they suit a range of interior styles. Bronte throws can be used in so many ways from wrapping up warm on the sofa or covering the end of your bed to taking with you on a car journey. There are even throws and cushions with cute designs for children and they make wonderful additions to kids bedrooms.
The process that the Bronte fabric goes through is all done from one site and includes dying the raw wool, blending the different coloured wools to create the rich coloured yarns, carding to align and smooth, spinning to create fine but strong yarn, weaving into fabric, scouring, milling and drying, and finally finishing by pressing the fabrics. Then the wonderfully luxurious fabrics are ready. Learn more about the different types of wool and the benefits of wool products in our guide to wool.
Choose from gorgeously soft lambswool throws for children and 100 percent merino wool throws in a wide range of patterns and colours, to the more unusual alpaca or mohair throws. A perfect gift for loved ones to snuggle into.
