Scottish Clan Scarf : MacGillivray Hunting Ancient
- Available to order
This material is 100% wool. The name derives from a Gaelic phrase denoting 'servant of judgement', and the MacGillivrays were important members of the mighty confederation of clans known as Clan Chattan. The clan fought for the cause of the Royal House of Stewart in both the 1715 and 1745 Jacobite Risings, with Clan Chief Alexander MacGillivray among the many Scottish dead on the battlefield of Culloden in 1746.
The brief history of the clan is written on label along with the motto and crest.
