This material is 100% wool. The name in Gaelic means 'sons of the followers of of St Fillan',and the clan was prominent in Kintail, although lands were also held in the Lowlands, near Leith. Allied to the powerful Clan MacKenzie, the clan took the Covenanting side during the seventeenth century Civil War - but the clan is particularly renowned up until the present day as highly gifted pipers.
