Scottish Clan Scarf : Matherson Red Modern
- Available to order
This material is 100% wool. The name is derived from a Gaelic expression meaning 'son of the heroes', and the clan traces its descent from a twelfth century son of the former Royal House of Lorne. As supporters of the mighty MacDonald Lords of the Isles, the clan was embroiled in many conflicts with authority, and the clan chief was executed in 1427 on the orders of James I.
The brief history of the clan is written on label along with the motto and crest.
