- In stock
This item is 100% wool. Also spelt 'Stuart', from the French, and one of the noblest names in the annals of Scotland story. The clan is the western branch of the clan Stewart, and stems from a Norman knight who was granted lands in East Lothian and Renfrewshire during the reign from 1124 to 1153 of David I, and it was through the marriage of one of his descendants to a daughter of his descendants to a daughter of Robert the Bruce that the dynasty of the Royal House of Stewart was founded.
The brief history of the clan is written on label along with the motto and crest.
